Fun Gun FAQs Q: What are the dimensions of the assembled kit? A: The Military Kit measures 35½” overall, with the Chicago Kit at 36” with the Muzzle Tip installed.      Length with the butt stock removed is 27” for the Military, 27½” for the Chicago.      The Fun Gun Kit is legal to display or use with the butt stock removed.      These dimensions are with the Ruger 16¼” long barrel from the 10/22CRR model. Q: Can I get a 16¼” barrel separately? A: Yes, see our ‘Links” page for vendors who supply these. Q: Will a .920” diameter barrel fit? A: Yes, for the Chicago Model - but you will need one with the front sight Q: Can I use a scope with the kit? A: Full access to the original scope base mounting area is kept with the Kit. Q: Does the Kit include a Ruger 10/22 rifle or any magazines? A: No. Q: What type of rear sight is used? A: A “Peep” sight with a .038” diameter hole in it. This is similar to the original military M1 Thompson models, and provides for accurate and fast pick-up of stationary and moving targets. Q: Is the rear sight adjustable? A: The rear sight has enlarged mounting holes to allow windage adjustment by loosening the attaching      screws. Elevation adjustment should not be necessary, Point of Impact is set center at 25 yards. Q: What is staking the pins? A: Two pins on the trigger group may loosen and come out due to the vibration of firing. Staking is using a            punch and hammer to make a small dent in the material right next to a pin hole, with the edge of the      dent being pushed slightly over the end of the pin to prevent the pin from sliding out. It is not      necessary to take apart the trigger group or remove the pins to stake them. Q: What does the Muzzle Tip do? A: The Muzzle Tip provides the look of the old “Cutt’s Compensator”. The exit hole of the Tip is .460” to      give the “big caliber” look. It fits both 16” and 18” long standard profile Ruger barrels. It is a precision      slip fit with a hidden set screw underneath for easy installation.
